Region of Thessaly

The Region of Thessaly is one of the 13 administrative regions of Greece, covering an area of approximately 14,000 km², which represents around 11% of the country’s total territory. Building on its experience in European projects and its innovation-oriented governance, the Region combines strategic planning with strong operational capacity. In response to the natural disasters that have struck the Region in recent years, Thessaly has developed an updated, evidence-based model for disaster risk governance. In HARMONI, the Region of Thessaly contributes real-life experience in natural disaster management, supporting stronger preparedness, more coordinated response and resilience to NaTech events and cascading risks affecting critical infrastructure.
